Allocebus Petter-Rousseaux & Petter, 1967

Monotypic prosimian genus to which the hairy-eared dwarf lemur belongs; believed to have been extinct until a German naturalist photographed an individual in a remote region of Madagascar in the late 1980s. Body mass probably between 60 and 100 g. Natural history virtually unknown. Population densities low. Appears to hibernate from May to October.
