Archaeological site found in 1927 in the central Sahara 400 km northeast of Timbuktu, Mali, dated to the Upper Pleistocene or Holocene (c. 7 kya), and that contains a fossil skeleton with Nilotic affinities attributed to Homo sapiens, comparable to modern Bantus and Hottentots.
