Baker, Paul Thornell

(1927-) US adaptation physiologist at Penn State; initiated the high-altitude research site at Nuñoa, Peru (1962-76). At the Samoan Migrant Health Project (1975-86) he studied the effects of adaptation and modernization. He mentored 25 Ph.D. students and retired in 1987.
