Cercamonius (Protoadapis) Brachyrynchus Gingerich, 1975

Adapoid prosimian from the late Eocene of Europe belonging to the notharctid subfamily Cercamoniinae; monotypic. Known from a left mandibular fragment recovered early in the twentieth century; consequently, some workers retain this species in Protoadapis. Estimated body mass around 4 kg. Dental formula uncertain, but has three lower premolars rather than four as in many cercamoniines; fused mandibular symphysis.
