Cynocephalidae

Only extant family within the mammalian order Dermoptera, consisting of the single genus Cynocephalus, and two species, C. volans and C. variegatus; found only on the islands of Southeast Asia. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3/3.1.2.3. These are folivorous, arboreal, gliding mammals, sometimes incorrectly described as volant (flying).
