Dederiyeh Cave

Archaeological site found in 1987 in the Afrin region of northwestern Syria, dating to the Levantine Middle Paleolithic; contains artifacts including Levallois type cores and flakes (lower levels) and Natufian flakes (upper levels). Hominid remains include the nearly complete skeleton of an immature (2 year old) hominid assigned to Homo neanderthalensis. Aka Wadi Dederiyeh.
