Draconodus (Picrodus) Apertus

Archaic mammal from the middle Paleocene of the Rocky Mountain region of North America belonging to the plesiadapiform family Picrodontidae; monotypic. Dental formula: probably 2.1.3.3/2.1.2.3; dental morphology suggestive of the nectarivorous living bats and has led to speculation that these animals were pollinators who fed on nectar. Body mass estimated at 200 g.
