Günz Glaciation

One of the four traditional periods of glaciation or ice ages that define the Pleistocene epoch during the past 1.8 million years. The first stage in the Quaternary sequence of the Alpine region, the Günz had a duration of about 100 ky and reached a maximum about 1.0 mya.
