Gates Of Grief

Narrow strait between Africa and Arabia where, according to geneticist Stephen Oppenheimer, early AMHs could have waded or rafted out of Africa 150 kya when sea levels were lower during the Pleistocene epoch; so named because of the strong currents in the strait.

Cf. Levantine corridor.
