Gombe Stream Chimpanzee Reserve

Location in Tanzania on Lake Tanganyika where a field research site was established by Jane Goodall in 1960; inhabited by common chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) and red colobus monkeys (Piliocolobus badius), the site has been a fertile research center utilized by several generations of field primatologists, including Goodall, T. H. Clutton-Brock, G. Teleki, P. W. Marler, L. T. Nash, B. B. Smuts, J. B. Silk, R. W. Wrangham, C. B. Stanford, R. Jurmain, L. Kilgore, M. E. Morbeck, K. Morris, and D. Riss.
