Gongwangling Hill (Lantian 2)

Archaeological site found in 1964 in the Chinling Mountains, Lantian County, Shaanxi Province, China, dated to 1.15 mya 730 kya, and that contains chopping tools, cores and flakes. Hominid remains include a partial primitive cranium of about 780 cm3 attributed to Sinanthropus lantianensis (Homo erectus). This is the oldest erectine found in China as of 1998.
