Human Biology Association (or Council)

North American academic society devoted primarily to the study of human biology. Its members include individuals from physical anthropology, medicine, dentistry, public health, genetics, nutrition, and other areas of human biology. The Human Biology Council was established in 1940 and incorporated in 1974. Its organ was Human Biology from 1940 to 1988 and from 1988 to the present its journal has been the American Journal of Human Biology. Currently it has approximately 600 members. It holds its annual meetings concurrently with the American Association of Physical Anthropologists.
