Otzi, a 5.3 kya intact human preserved in a glacier in the Similaun Pass of the Italian Otzil Alps. Found in 1991. Geneticists from Oxford University were able to extract ancient DNA from the cryomummified remains. International teams have analyzed the mummy’s Bronze Age tools, clothing, stomach contents, and general condition of health.
