International Biological Programme

In 1964, the IBP was chartered to ‘study ecological factors that influence human productivity and welfare’. The convenor was J. S. Weiner. Among its participants was J. M. Tanner. The IBP was responsible for internationalizing studies on growth and development, population biology, and human adaptation.
