Isaac, Glynn

South African-born Berkeley and Harvard archaeologist; prolific publisher and tireless field director; excavated at Olduvai Gorge and Olorgesailie with the Leakeys; later, co-director of the Koobi Fora Research Project in Kenya. Isaac excavated several other East African sites, including Peninj, and provided ongoing commentaries regarding hominid foraging strategies and tool use until his untimely death. Author of Olorgesailie (1977).
