KBS Tuff

Pleistocene volcanic tuff found by Kay Behrensmeyer in 1969 at Koobi Fora, Kenya, originally misdated by K/Ar dating in 1972 at 2.6 mya, and later revised downward in 1975 by Garniss Curtis to 1.88-1.64 mya (the original sample was contaminated by erosional mix from an older tuff). KBS Kay Behrensmeyer Site. This tuff may be the same as Tuff H2 in the Shungura Formation.
