Kanam Man

Fossil species of early Pleistocene hominid proposed by Louis Leakey on the basis of the type specimen, a mandible found at Kanam in Kenya. This specimen, attributed to Homo kanamensis, was influential in establishing Africa as the cradle of mankind.
