Archaeological surface site found by Bryan Patterson southwest of Lake Turkana, Kenya, in 1965, dated to 4.2-3.4 mya, and that contains nine fragments of hominid remains, including a left distal humerus (KNM-KP 271) attributed to Australopithecus anamensis, found near an ancient lake bed called Lake (anam) Lonyumun.
