Komba Simpson, 1967

Genus of fossil prosimian known from the early to middle Miocene of Africa and belonging to the family Galagidae; three species. Very similar to extant galagos, although it cannot be determined to which genera it gave rise. Body mass between 300 and 1000 g. Dental formula: 2.1.3.3/2.1.3.3; shearing crests on molars; diet in the smaller species probably insectivory. Large orbits indicative of nocturnality. Postcrania similar to those of extant galagos, except that the tarsal bones are not as long.
