Konso-Gardula

Archaeological site found near Lake Baringo, Kenya, dated to 1.4 mya, and that contains Acheulean artifacts and cut marks on animal bones; hominid remains include fragments of 11 individuals. A mandibular fragment shows indications of tooth pick use; this is currently the earliest site where the Acheulean appears abruptly at 1.4 mya in Africa.
