Kostenki-Borshevo (site Cluster)

Archaeological sites found in 1879 near Voronezh, Russia, on the Don River, dated variously to 34.7, 24.1 and 19.9 kya, etc.; contain Upper Paleolithic artifacts, including mammoth-bone living structures with storage pits, shouldered projectile points, and Venus figurines. Voluminous faunal remains were found at several locations. The cluster contains 24 open-air sites.
