Kwangsi

Paleontological site(s) found in 1956 in Kwangsi Province, China, dated to the middle Pleistocene. This Provincial name refers to several sites, including a cave in Tahsin County and another cave on Luntsai Mountain in Liucheng County. The fossil hominoids recovered include a mandible from Luntsai and three teeth from Tahsin, all assigned to Gigantopithecus. The same expedition also recovered 47 teeth of this species from Chinese apothecaries in the same Province. Aka Hsinshechung village. Also spelled Kwangxi, Guangsi, Guangxi.
