Lands bordering the eastern shores of the East Mediterranean and Aegean Seas, especially those in present-day southern Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and northern Egypt. Many sites of archaeological significance, dating from over 790 kya to the present, have been found in the region.
