Macrotarsius Clark, 1941

Genus of tarsiiform primate from the late Eocene and early Oligocene of North America, belonging to the subfamily Omomyinae; five species. Estimated body mass between 1.5 and 2.5 kg; largest member of the subfamily. Dental formula: 2.1.3.3/2.1.3.3; molars notable for shearing crests and similarity to the molars of Alouatta, suggesting a folivorous diet.
