Middle Paleolithic

The Middle Old Stone Age; a general term used to refer collectively to the stone tool technologies of archaic Homo sapiens, including but not limited to a decrease in the use of handaxes and an increase in the use of artifacts produced by the Levallois technique; this Age may have commenced as early as 200 kya (70 kya is more commonly cited), and lasted until about 50-32 kya.
