Serbian mathematician and clinatologist; proposed that variations in the earth’s climate are in part due to systematic variation in the pattern of solar radiation, which came to be known as the Milankovich orbital forcing hypothesis. Author of Canon of Insolation of the Earth and Its Application to the Problem of Ice Ages (1941).
