Milton, Katherine (1941-)

US primatologist and anthropologist at UC Berkeley who investigates the energetics, digestive physiology, and dietary ecology of primates. Her work on howler monkey energetics moved the study of primate foraging behavior in new directions. In recent years she has expanded her study to include the nutritional ecology of humans in Amazonia and Papua New Guinea. Author of The Foraging Strategy of Howler Monkeys (1980).
