An archaeological site found in 1999, located on volcanic Mount Napak (Akisim) in northeastern Uganda near the Kenya border in East Africa, provisionally dated to c. 17 mya (early Miocene). The site contains more than 1,000 fossils; hominoid remains include Proconsul major. Aka Napak 1.
