Archaeological site found in 1970 in the Lake Baringo region of Kenya, dated to 12-9 mya. The Ngorora tooth (KNM-BN 1378) may be the oldest hominid fragment from anywhere in the world, although others think that it resembles the Nachola Formation fragments of Kenyapithecus.
