Olduvai Man

AMH skeleton found at Olduvai Gorge (then Oldoway) in 1913 by Hans Reck, who incorrectly put its age at 500 kya, proposing that this bent-knee burial in Bed II was not intrusive. For the next 15 years, it influenced discussions of the antiquity of modern humans in Africa, but radiocarbon dating subsequently gave an age of only 17 kya. Aka Oldoway Man, OH 1.
