Oligopithecus Simons, 1962

Poorly known anthropoid genus from the late Eocene of North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula; two species recognized. Body mass ranges between 1 and 1.5 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3/2.1.2.3; dental morphology is a mix of adapid and anthropoid traits and leads to confusion regarding the phylogenetic relationship of this genus.
