Omomys Leidy, 1869

Genus of tarsiiform primate from the early to middle Eocene of North America belonging to the omomyid subfamily Omomyinae; two species. Estimated body mass between 200 and 300 g. Mandibular dental formula: 2.1.3.3; dental morphology suggestive of faunivory. One of the few omomyines for which the postcrania are known; postcrania suggestive of quadrupedalism with leaping capabilities.
