Ourayia Gazin, 1958

Genus of tarsiiform primate from the middle to late Eocene of North America, belonging to the subfamily Omomyinae; two species. Some workers think that this genus may be descended from Omomys or an unknown genus close to it; others have suggested that Ourayia is ancestral to Macrotarsius. Estimated body mass between 1 and 2 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.3.3/2.1.3.3; dental morphology reminiscent of that of modern Callicebus and suggestive of frugivory with insect supplements.
