Parapapio Jones, 1937

Genus of cercopithecines known from the late Miocene through the early Pleistocene of sub-Saharan Africa; five species recognized; known from crania only. It has a mosaic of baboon and mangabey traits. Very little sexual dimorphism. Estimated body mass ranges from 17 to 30 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3/2.1.2.3. Presumed to be terrestrial.
