Pelican Rapids Woman

Vernacular for a fossil from an archaeological site found in 1931 near Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, and dated to c. 7.9 kya, containing one fossil hominid, a paleoindian female aged about fifteen years and assigned to AMH, but who possessed 2 cm canines, well outside the modern range; the burial may have been intrusive. This specimen was repatriated and reburied in 1999 under NAGPRA guidelines. Aka Minnesota Man.
