Pilgrim, Guy Ellock

British geologist, vertebrate paleontologist; Pilgrim conducted surveys at several Cenozoic deposits in the Persian Gulf and northwestern India. He revised the stratigraphy of the Siwalik Hills, and published on the vertebrates in each of the three major fossiliferous strata. In 1915, Pilgrim described two Miocene hominoids, Dryopithecus punjabicus and Sivapithecus indicus.
