Piliocolobus Rochebrune, 1887

1. catarrhine genus to which the red colobus monkeys belong; 3-5 species. Distribution discontinuous in equatorial Africa and on Zanzibar; variable habitats. Body mass ranges from 7 to 13 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3; strongly folivorous. Live in troops of up to 100 individuals.

2. subgenus of Colobus when the red colobus monkeys are included within that genus.
