Poorly known primitive hominoid from the middle Miocene of Europe belonging to the family Pliopithecidae; approximately three species; many authors retain these species within Pliopithecus. Estimated body mass at 5 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3. Another synonym is Crouzelia.
