Pondaungia Cotteri Pilgrim, 1927

Enigmatic primate from the middle to late Eocene of Myanmar (Burma); one species; known from jaws and molars; phylogenetic relationships unknown, but Pondaugia was suggested as an anthropoid ancestor from the time of its discovery based on low-crowned cusps and the large basin on the teeth; other workers think that it has either adapid or omomyid affinities. Estimated body mass around 7 kg. Dental formula unknown; preserved dentition suggestive of frugivory.
