Monotypic catarrhine genus to which the olive colobus belongs; aka magic monkey; van Beneden’s monkey. Found in far western equatorial Africa. Occupies varied habitats; primarily utilizes the understory. Arboreal; diurnal; arboreal quadruped. Body mass ranges from 3 to 5 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3; folivorous. Cryptic species that is camouflaged by its pelage color. Natural history poorly known. Social unit appears to be small mixed-sex groups.
