Pucangan Formation

Stratigraphic unit in central Java, dated to the Early Pleistocene (2 mya, K/A, Lower Lahar mud flow), and that contains Jetis (Djetis) fauna with Siva-Malayan affinities. The unit is up to 46 m thick. Mammal-bearing levels occur in this unit, and become increasingly common toward the top of the section. Aka Pucangan Beds.
