Riss Glaciation

One of the four traditional periods of glaciation or ice ages that define the Pleistocene epoch during the past 1.8 million years BP. The third stage in the Quaternary sequence of the Alpine region, the Riss had a duration of about 100 ky and terminated about 125 kya.
