Robinson, John Talbot

South African zoologist; after 1947, assistant (later Assistant Director) to Robert Broom at the Transvaal Museum in South Africa, where he assisted in excavations at Sterkfontein, Swartkrans, and Kromdraai; authored major papers on hominid anatomy and taxonomy. During 1963-85 he was a teacher at the University of Wisconsin. Author of Early Hominid Posture and Locomotion (1972).
