Szalatavus Attricuspis Rosenberger, Hartwig, And Wolff, 1991

Platyrrhine from the late Oligocene of South America and placed in a category incertae sedis; monotypic; some workers think that this is a junior synonym for Branisella boliviana; one of the geologically oldest of the New World monkeys; phylogenetic relationship uncertain, but some workers think that this monkey is a callitrichid ancestor. Estimated body mass around 500 g. Dental formula: 2.1.3.3/2.1.3.3; dental morphology suggestive of frugivory.
