TL Dating

Thermoluminescence dating, a chronometric dating method that exploits the fact that certain heated objects accumulate trapped electrons over time, which permits a date estimation to be made of the time an object was last heated. The greater the measured thermoluminescence, the older the object. Used to date pottery and fired clay. A variant, optically stimulated luminescence, can be used on sediments.
