Talpohenach (Plesiolestes) Torrejonia Kay And Cartmill, 1977

Archaic mammal known from the middle to late Paleocene of North America, belonging to the Plesiadapiformes family Palaechthonidae; monotypic. Known only from dentition and mandibular remains. Dental formula probably; enlarged anterior dentition, enlarged third molars, low-crowned molars are suggestive of herbivorous diet, probably frugivory. Mandible unfused as in modern prosimians. Body size estimated at 300 g. Some authors include Talpohenach within Plesiolestes.
