Tarsierlike primates. The only living members of this group belong to the genus Tarsius. Historically an infraorder of the suborder Prosimii; if the tarsiers are recognized as a separate group among the primates there is no need for this division within the suborder Tarsioidea; in the more accepted recent classificatory scheme the tarsiiforms become an infraorder within the Haplorhini.
