Turkanapithecus Kalakoensis Leakey And Leakey, 1986

Monotypic genus of hominoids from the early Miocene of Kenya; phylogenetic relationships uncertain, but often placed with the Proconsulidae. Estimated body mass around 10 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3; dental morphology suggests frugivorous diet. Appears to have been an arboreal quadruped with some suspensory abilities.
