Veternica (Cave)

Archaeological site excavated since 1953 near Zagreb in the Hrvatsko Zagorje (northwestern Croatia), dating to the late Pleistocene, and that contains Mousterian artifacts. Hominid remains including a partial human skull were initially attributed to Homo neanderthalensis, but have also been interpreted as early AMH.
