Victoriapithecus Macinnesis Von Koenigswald, 1969

Cercopithecoid from the early to middle Miocene of East Africa; currently only one species is recognized. Estimated body mass around 7 kg. Dental formula: 2.1.2.3/2.1.2.3; sexually dimorphic canines, bilophodont molars. Traits intermediate between parapithecids and modern Old World monkeys; in particular, very small brain compared with modern cercopithecids. Limb bones indicate semiterrestrial habits.
